My Journey

At 27, I was living in Paris, nearing the end of nearly a decade of medical and dental training, exhausted and convinced that my creative life was behind me. I imagined a future rooted in certainty, between France and Martinique, the island of my origins.

Within a year, an unexpected opportunity brought me to the United States. Love anchored me there, and while living in New York, a vivid dream altered my path: I was called to a hidden gallery filled with unfinished paintings and told simply, Your job is to finish these paintings.

I woke with a deep knowing that creativity had never left—it had been waiting. The next day, I enrolled in art school, answering a call I could no longer ignore.

Decades later, painting has flowed through every chapter of my life. Shaped by motherhood, professional milestones, and the writing of two novels, the inner current remained. Alongside my painting practice, I teach Tai Chi, where movement, breath, and stillness inform my intuitive approach to creation.

In 2021, studying with Iranian-born artist Freydoon Rassouli marked a renewed devotion to art and a natural entry into the Fusion Art movement, where creation became a bridge between dreams, spirit, and lived experience.
